Rooftop Inspiration

This has been a loooong week.  I won’t go into details, suffice it to say…. it was a long week.  I was on set this last weekend, to try and take my mind off said personal problems, and there were a lot of key scenes being shot.

Darian Weiss did an amazing job in the rooftop scenes, so good that I started writing a cue in my head while he was shooting the scene.  I heard woodwinds playing his theme softly, with strings moving in and out underneath, and it was the most “visceral” the score has presented itself so far during the process of watching production.

I got the dailies imported from the first 4 days of shooting “11:11.”  It’s exciting stuff, and I’m in the midst of setting up the basic instruments for the session, at least the demo part of it.  I don’t anticipate doing much writing this week, but I’m hoping to get the rest of the instruments set up.  This upcoming weekend of shooting is the most exciting yet, there is violence and beach bonfires, but not at the same time.  I’ll be there both days, follow along on Twitter!
