In 2009, I met Heath Vinyard on Twitter, and we met in person for tacos in Laguna Beach. Over lunch, he showed me a sequence from his upcoming series called “End Result.” The clip was an incredible looking rooftop gunfight. I just about peed myself. This was my first true “action” score, and it was one of the most fun processes I’ve had as a composer. Heath is a talented and modest man – and easy to work with. These cues are from Season 1 of the show, and were the catalyst for me to start writing action music for shows on SyFy and Discovery. Heath and I went on to work on his pilot “Replaced” together. One day soon, Heath is going to showrun the next “Justified,” and I’d love to be by his side.
