Music from my IAWTV Award Nominated score for the series “SOLO.” These suites are taken from the 9-episode first season of the show, which was Produced, Written and Starred Jonathan Nail (Mad Men, The Office), as Scott Drizhel, an ordinary guy who gets sent to Mars as part of a reality show. When the show gets canceled, Scott is stranded, and he realizes he’s gotten himself into more than he bargained for… This was the first time in my career that I was on set and actually worked in production on a show. At various points during the show’s production, I gripped, gaffed, ran the craft services table, PA’d, was a casting assistant, and even helped put the finishing touch on the ship itself. The score itself is a combination of comedy and action, and the theme song (at the end of the Planet X Suite is one of the best pieces of music I’ve ever written. There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears poured into this score – and you can hear them in every note.
