Yo, blog people. It’s me. In fact, that’s me up there. Although my kidneys are working, so I’m not as jaundiced as that guy. Also, my head is not quite that round and disembodied. And I have eyebrows. But the smile is mine.
It’s been a busy few weeks. I’ve met with some great filmmakers and I’m on the cusp of multiple projects, some I can talk about and some I can’t….yet. Tonight I had to write music for a drama with comedic elements, and fuse together the two in one scene as an audition for a film.
I saw Star Trek the other night. I am not a follower of the brand, I’ve seen enough episodes to know what I’m talking about. But the movie kicked ass by itself. J.J. Abrams took a franchise in need of rebooting and planted said boot up its butt with style and finesse. And Giacchino’s score….. Go buy it and listen to the 3rd track “Labor of Love,” and then watch the opening scene of the film where it’s used. I’m moved every time I hear it.
Is all that why I’m smiling? It’s all definitely ancillary smilage, but not necessarily primary. It’s not necessarily important to you blog readers, all 6 of you, but at the moment it means…. I’m smiling.
