We’re stuck in New Jersey.
Only Allison and I could escape the rain in LA only to be in Jersey for the biggest snowstorm of the year. Good thing my computer didn’t die or anything.
Oh, wait. It did.
A few days ago, the motherboard on my laptop died permanently. It was an f500 Compaq Presario. I’ve had it for 4 years, and used it more than most humans use a computer. It’s been a workhorse, never failed me and, although they don’t make them anymore, I’d recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. I’ve never been the biggest advocate of HP; I’ve had problems with their printers for years, but I’ll be the first to herald this laptop and the Compaq line. But computers don’t last forever, and the motherboard finally gave in. So, before the storm hit, Allie and I headed over to Best Buy and I picked up a new laptop.
It’s a Gateway NV53A, and so far I love it. The only thing I don’t love is that all my backed-up files are on drives at Allison’s mom’s house, 10 miles away, and it’s illegal to drive right now because of the snow. So, I’m blog posting. I’ll keep you posted on how this computer works, but I’m already in love with the fact that it’s got a dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive pre-installed.
