It’s been a busy week. I shouldn’t have even stopped to write this blog, yet, here I am. I’ve been concurrently working on updating all my cues for my new demo and scoring a film at the same time. I’m in the midst of Level of Trust by Steve Royall, a great film and great director. Steve came out to Long Beach for coffee and so we could exchange discs. He’s perusing over the first draft of the score and taking notes on changes.
The most time consuming part of the week has been filtering through every project I’ve done and remixing cues. I’ve got 60 projects to get through and it takes (on average) an hour to get through one, depending on the work it needs. Some of the more recent projects need very little, I just need to break up the score into cues that will work on my site and demo. the older stuff sometimes needs complete orchestration, and changes in samples. On the plus side, I’ve found some real gems that would have never seen the light, and they sound amazing once I update them. I’ve got three big meetings coming up in the next week and a half, and I need to get my new demos done, hence the rush to update.
More blogging later when I’ve got some time, the studio calls.
